We are going to dive into the importance of water but if you would like to check out our other articles about healing anxiety with faith or how to use your faith to unlock your potential. Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

Water is one of the essential building blocks of life. It’s clearly one of the many countless blessings from God to humanity and it is arguably the greatest gift God has given us all. And yet, it appears as though we forget just how important water is. How can we fully adhere to our faith in God without realizing the importance of a blessing that is pivotal to our lives and everything else around us?

Water is crucial to our physical health and well-being but we take it for granted. Today’s post will be a short reminder of exactly how important water is to our bodies and why it is essential to every healthy Christian.

The Importance of Water Highlighted in the Holy Scriptures

God places a lot of emphasis on the importance of water. In fact, the Bible references water a total of 722 times. You might find it surprising to learn that it is mentioned more often than faith, hope, prayer, and worship.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” — Genesis 1:1-2

Before God formed the earth and before God created light, water existed. Another important time water was used in the Bible was when Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for Isaac.

Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See I am standing beside this spring and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, “Drink, and I’ll water your camels, too’ – let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. — Genesis 24:12-14

Water: Essential to Life & Incredibly Useful

Without water, life on Earth could not exist. It is both essential to the existence of all life forms and offers a lot of practical uses that we take for granted.

We drink water, wash ourselves with it, lay in it, clean with it, travel on it, and its movement is capable of generating energy that we use. Water is responsible for regulating the Earth’s temperature, it is essential for all the food we grow and eat, and it is the home of marine life.

Water was not just one of the first creations of God. It is also what was responsible for the creation of Earth itself.

“But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.” — 2 Peter 3:5

It was on the second day of creation that this water was separated so some would remain on the Earth and some spread across the heavens.

Water & Christian Health

Jesus promises living water to anyone who believes in Him.

“Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again: but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst: but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life”— John 4:13-14

Jesus made a promise at the well that day, recognizing the human body’s need for physical water. It has a critical role to play in Christian wellness and health. it is our duty as healthy Christians to give water its due importance.

Water is the most abundant substance in the human body. Each cell, tissue, and organ in the human body comprises water. It is responsible for transporting the oxygen in our body through the blood that flows through our veins. It removes the toxins from our bodies and runs every life-sustaining system in the human body.

Drinking plenty of water is important because we keep losing it throughout the day when we breathe, urinate, perspire, and through several other activities. More importantly, it is essential to drink safe, clean, and healthy water. They say just to maintain hydration you should drink half your body weight in ounces per day. That means if you weigh 150 lbs, you should be drinking 75 ounces of water daily.

The Impact of Pollution & Ensuring Access to Safer Water

Water is available to us in great abundance. It exists in various bodies, from lakes to rivers, oceans, and so on. Unfortunately, humanity has been polluting it for centuries and flooding it with toxins that make it dangerous for consumption.

From the water we drink to what we cook, clean, and bathe in, our water supply is filled with invisible toxins, including poisonous metals like lead, disease-causing bacteria, and much more.

It might be impossible to undo all the damage that has already been done in polluting our water supply. However, it is our duty as good Christians who leverage faith in God for success and well-being to do what we can to ensure that the water we use is safe, clean, and healthy for us.

It is possible to get access to water befitting our duties to God in taking better care of ourselves, and this is why we have partnered with Aquasana to highlight a few incredibly helpful products that can enhance the water you drink.

The most effective would be to install the Under Sink Water Filter to make sure that the water you use in your kitchen for drinking and food is free of contaminants.
